Jon Allen’s “Infinity Deck” is a very special deck of playing cards that allows you to perform a variety of effects without the need for difficult sleight-of-hand.
The deck allows you to do peeks, reversals, think-a-card effects, and visual changes, among other things.
You receive the special “Infinity Deck” made with Hoyle red back cards. The deck is also a stripper deck. The instructions come in a 12-page booklet.
The booklet describes the various properties of the deck. It details 7 different effects using the deck, including a bonus trick used by Jon Allen in his IBM award-winning act.
Peeking: The cards are riffled and a spectator says stop. You can name the card stopped at. This can be repeated with several other spectators, and you will know the card they peeked at every time.
Cutting: A spectator notes a card and cuts the deck to bury it. You turn around, fan the deck, and can instantly name the person’s card.
Thinkin’: Someone peeks at a card. That card is the only card face up in the deck.
Momorizin’: Someone looks at and remembers a card in the deck. You run through the deck, supposedly memorising the position of each card. When the spectator names her chosen card, you can tell the exact position it occupies in the deck.
Predictin’: You write a prediction and have someone peek at a card. You write another prediction and have another spectator think of a card. This is repeated with a third person. All 3 predictions turn out to be correct.
Turnin’: A card is selected and left protruding from the deck. You then show that all the cards in the deck are face down. With a magic gesture, all the cards are now face up. The selected card remains protruding all the time.
Lookin’: A person looks at a card when the deck is fanned. You are able to name the thought-of card.
Timin’: A selected card is replaced face up in the deck. The deck is cut in half. The cards in one half are mixed face up and face down. With a magical gesture, the cards are shown to face one way again. The other half magically becomes mixed face up and face down. The 2 halves are put together. Magically, all the cards are shown to be facing down except the chosen card.
Bonus trick, Triumphinity: A card is selected and returned to the deck. The cards are mixed face up and face down. The cards are shuffled, and all the cards are now face up except for the selected card.
Once you understand the properties of the “Infinity Deck”, you can come up with effects of your own.
