This effect is a 2006 FISM Invention Award by Mathieu Bich. Therefore, will this be costly as well as difficult to perform? The answer is “No” on both accounts.
Firstly, here is a description of the effect. The audience names any card in a deck of 52 cards. The performer displays a deck of seemingly blank cards on both sides, except 3 cards which have “Your”, “Card”, and “Is The” printed on each of them. He cuts and displays several packets of cards and finally, when the deck is spread out, the actual name of the named card is spelt on the spread! An unusual revelation of a chosen card.
To design a single deck that can display 52 different cards (the first version did not reveal the 4 aces) when spread is not easy. Yet Mathieu Bich has succeeded in doing this. The deck is divided into several portions. By identifying and manipulating the correct packets, the deck can be set to reveal the value as well as the suit of any card. To make it easy for the performer to do this, Mathieu has incorporated several ingenious “clues” in the deck as well as in the procedure. However, it still needs the performer to have a clear head during performance. In this way, this effect is not too difficult to perform.
The deck comes specially printed. To custom print a deck such as this one will not come cheap. Therefore, the price asked for is reasonable.
You also receive a DVD in which the instruction on how to perform this effect is clearly delivered without a single word being uttered from the mouth of Mathieu Bich. The DVD shows the handling of the deck and the instructions are flashed in English texts. The instructions are clear and there are several replays which make the learning more comprehensive and less laborious.
Overall, a very good value for your money. (5/5 stars rating).
