This is a clever combination of the diamond paddle trick and a pocket mirror. A mirror reflects the diamond on the paddle – and that is how the diamond on the paddle multiplies and moves around.
Here is the effect. The performer shows a pocket mirror with a slim black plastic handle. He takes the handle out of the mirror and shows that there is nothing on the stick on both sides.
He taps the mirror on one end of the stick and a diamond appears at that end. It appears on the underside of the stick also. The performer then magically duplicates this diamond across the stick to the other end. Now, both ends of the stick as well as underneath the stick have a diamond on each end.
The performer taps one end of the stick against the mirror and the diamond at the other end of the stick magically jumps to join this diamond. There are now 2 diamonds on one end of the stick. The performer uses the mirror reflect and separate one of these diamonds and move it to the other end.
The stick, or the paddle, now has one diamond on each end of the stick on one side, and underneath the stick is 2 diamonds at one end.
The paddle and the mirror can be handed out for examination.

There are numerous paddle tricks using small diamonds embedded on the paddle. There is a lot of magic that is happening to this type of diamond paddle in a short period of time. This makes paddle tricks one of the most visual and popular close-up effects. What Jeki has done is to take one version of the diamond paddle and uses a pocket mirror to “cause” the diamonds to reflect on and off the paddle. This adds a little logic to what is happening to the diamonds on the paddle.
Paddle tricks are not difficult to do. You need to know the basic paddle move, and paddle tricks can be fast-moving and quite angle-proof. However, I find that this particular paddle is a little narrower on its width, and I sometimes have difficulty in performing a proper paddle move. If you can do a proper paddle move using this paddle, Mirror Paddle is an excellent effect. (Rated 4.5 stars)
