Hen Fetsch was a prolific inventor of magic in the 1940’s to 1950’s. This is one of his inventions.
A deck of cards is shuffled and a spectator calls “Stop” at any time. The card stopped at is glimpsed and then lost back into the deck. Let us say the card is the 7 of hearts.
The performer brings out a slim ID wallet and claims that he can make the spectator’s selected card vanish from the deck and reappear inside this wallet.
The performer deals cards from the deck face upwards one at a time, and asks the spectator to stop him when she sees her selected card. The performer deals through the entire deck and the spectator does not see her selected card. Her card has vanished from the deck.
She opens the wallet and finds her selected card inside it.
The performer offers to try again. Her selected card is shuffled back into the deck. The deck is shuffled and the spectator again calls “Stop” at any time. The card stopped at is glimpsed and then lost back into the deck.
Once again, the performer deals each card in the deck face upwards and the spectator cannot see her second selected card. It too has vanished.
The spectator opens the wallet on the table and is surprised to find her second selected card inside the wallet. The wallet can be examined by the audience.
You receive the slim ID wallets made of leather and some gimmicked cards. The instructions are in the form of a 2-page illustrated sheet of paper.
The trick is straight forward, and is easy to do. What makes this effect impactful is the fact that it can be immediately performed a second time. Although there is a performing angle that you have to take care of, the routine is specially structured that you can do this without much effort. (Rated 4.5/5 starts)
