This effect is what the name implies, visual transformation. The change is very visual and this is very easy to do. There are no difficult sleights and the spectators can have a free choice of card. This is a very cleverly built gimmick but is subjected to wear and tear in the long run. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t make sense to use a card case to change a card. The case will be under a lot of heat, especially if you do it twice. The other thing you should know is that this effect doesn’t use a full deck, so if you’re thinking of incorporating this with other effects that uses a full deck, you’d be disappointed.

Having said all these, Masuda is a very clever man, this is not the first time I’ve made this comment, it won’t be my last either. So far none of Masuda’s effect disappoints me; I think most people will like his effects too.
