THE POLIZA by Adrian Vega

“The Poliza” is the usual Insurance Policy Trick with a huge difference. The usual Insurance Policy trick was a creation of Tommy Windsor. It is essentially a gag, and the chosen card is forced upon the unsuspecting spectator. “The Poliza” enables the performer to reveal a freely chosen and signed card inside the insurance policy.

This is how the effect looks like. A card is freely chosen and signed by a spectator. It is shuffled back into the deck.

After several failed attempts at finding the selected card, the embarrassed performer claims he bought an insurance policy against his failure to find a spectator’s chosen card.

He brings out the insurance policy from inside his jacket and opens it to read the conditions stated in the policy. The policy contains some comical conditions. When the policy is fully opened, a small black envelope is found inside it. This is where the jokes end and the magic begins. The flap of the envelope is opened and inside it is the spectator’s chosen and signed card! The insurance policy can be shown on both sides and there is no indication how the selected playing card could get inside it.

You receive “The Poliza” printed in good quality paper and a link to a 52 minutes video tutorial by Adrian Vega. This is a very well designed insurance policy that allows a playing card to be easily introduced into the envelope inside the folded insurance policy.

Adrian teaches several methods of loading the selected card into the insurance policy. A couple of them require the policy to be inside your jacket or trousers pocket. The loading of the signed card is easily accomplished.

There is a method where the insurance policy is visible on the table throughout the performance. You load the signed card at the same time you open the folded insurance policy. It may seem to involve some complicated loading, but it is actually quite easy due to the clever construction of the folded policy.

The trick is suitable for close-up, parlour as well as stage performances. It is a comical card to impossible location effect. (Rated 5/5 stars)
