The Impossible Charger looks like an ordinary charger for a mobile phone.
It is not a magic trick per se. It can be used for magic or as a prank.
Here is what happens when you use it as a prank. You charge your mobile phone with a small charger that is connected with a cable to an electrical socket on a wall. Your friends see this. Before your mobile phone is completely charged, you disconnect everything, and keep your charger and cable. Then you notice the socket on the wall. You proceed to pluck out the socket from the wall and keep it too. The wall is seen to be completely solid without any outlet for electricity! The picture here shows the performer charging his mobile phone by connecting the cable to a socket on the table.
You receive the following items in a nicely packaged white box: the special charger, cable, a small suction, and 2 (fake) sockets (one is made of foam and one of metal). You are also provided with a link to a 12 minutes video tutorial.
There are many ways you can use this item in magic:
This is best used in conjunction with an effect involving the spectator’s or your mobile phone. For example, a phone app. Before the phone is used, say that you want to check if the phone is charged to at least a certain battery level. Connect the charger to the mobile and realise it does not work. The charger itself needs to be charged first. You look around and there are no electrical sockets nearby. Take out a small whiteboard and proceed to draw a socket on the whiteboard with the whiteboard pen. Magic is all about illusion and using the mind to imagine. Plug in the charger into the drawn socket. The 2 pins of thecharger appear to go into the drawing of the socket. Immediately, everybody can see that the mobile phone is charging, as the charging level is shown on the screen of the phone. “Oh, this level is enough.” You then proceed to disconnect everything and erase the drawing of the socket with a cloth or a whiteboard eraser. You then continue and perform the magic trick using the mobile phone.- If you are performing close-up or a card trick, gimmick the card box of your playing card. “Plug” your charger on top of your card box and proceed to charge your mobile phone.
- Say that you have super power, or that you feel “charged up”. Simply plug the charger onto your forehead or other part of your body. The audience sees the 2 pins go into your body and the mobile phone being charged.
Because this is so unusual, your audience will not easily forget ‘The Impossible Charger” effect. (Rated 5/5 stars)
