This is a short, visual and fun effect.
Performer takes 3 large (4” x 6”) and glossy cards out of an envelope. They are the 2 policeman cards and 1 Houdini card. The 2 policemen are supposed to watch over Houdini. The Houdini card is placed in-between the 2 policeman cards. However, the 2 policemen turn their backs for a brief moment. First, one policeman, then the other policeman, turn their backs on Houdini. Houdini is still seen in-between them, and the entire packet of cards is squared up. When they are spread, the middle Houdini card has vanished! In his place is another policeman card. All the 3 policeman cards can be shown fronts and backs. The Houdini card is finally found back inside the envelope.
You are supplied with all the necessary cards, and a black envelope. The set-up is printed on the folder card, but the full explanation of the trick is found in Tony Clark’s web-site, the address of which is stated in the card.
Although it may not have a devastating effect on the audience, it is quick and visual and fun to watch. It makes a great trick for strolling or parlour performances. (3.5/5 stars rating.)
