EASYTONES

Colours are often used to tell the psychological make-up of a person.  This gives an interesting premise for the performer to use colour in his magical presentations.

This is what “EASYTONES” is all about.  It is a deck of cards, very much like playing cards, except each card is a colour-chart like those used by painters or graphic designers.  Each card contains 4 different colours that supposedly can work well with one another.  They are grouped under a specific colour scheme name.  There are altogether 40 cards, and therefore 40 X 4 or 160 different colour samples.  Each colour comes with a specific name and a specific code number.

Each card can force a particular colour, using a familiar principle in mentalism.

The backs of the cards are also marked.  Instead of using complicating patterns found on the backs of most cards, the backs of these cards are plain and simply contain the name of the brand “evershades” in small letters.  This simple back design can cue you the name of the force colour on the front of the card.

The deck comes with a dozen more special cards to be used with the main colour cards.  They are used for the reveals.

EASYTONES” gives the mentalist an interesting hook to explain why a particular spectator chooses a certain colour.

You receive the EASYTONES deck of cards that come in a nice protective box.  You also get a link to an almost 3 hours of tutorial video featuring both Craig Petty and Rich Relish.

Rich has so much subtleties built into the cards that they enable you to do all types of magic.  Altogether, 9 different effects are taught in the tutorial.  They include a myraid of tricks, from mind reading and prediction to effects that take after card tricks such as gemini matching, a tossed-out deck, and an invisible deck type routine.  Some of the effects are also suitable for performing on stage or in a parlour setting.

Here is a brief description of an effect called ‘Fresh Coat Of Colour”.  A spectator is asked to think of renovating one of the rooms in her big house.  Before she tells anyone her choice, the performer writes the name of this room.  Next the spectator is asked to select a colour to paint this room.  Again the performer writes the colour before she reveals it to any one.  The performer’s 2 predictions are later proved to be correct.

Once you understand the various principles built into the “EASYTONES” deck, you can create your own routines.  (Rated 5/5 stars)
