CITY OF ANGELS

This effect makes use of the “angels” found on the back design of bicycle rider backs playing cards.

In effect, a spectator chooses a card and places it face up on the table under her hand.

A second spectator chooses another card.  The card is turned over to show the bicycle design of 2 angels on the back.  An interesting patter can be had on whether people believe in angles.  With a magical gesture, the performer makes the 2 angels vanished from the back design, leaving blank spaces where the angles were.

The performer has 2 more cards chosen by the spectators.  He makes the angels vanish from these 2 cards in a different manner.  Where did the angles go?

The performer explains that angels always travel together.  The first spectator is asked take her hand from her selected card.  When this card is turned over, all the angels from the 3 separate cards have come together on this one card!

All these cards are examinable.

You receive 5 specially printed blue back bicycle rider back cards.  The instructions are in a one page photo-illustrated printed sheet.  You have to supply your own deck of blue back rider bicycle deck of cards.

The idea of causing the printed angels on the backs of playing cards to vanish and then re-assembled onto one card is novel.

As you might expect it, some sleight-of-hand with cards are required to perform this effect.  They are quite standard card sleights such as forcing a card, double-lift and colour change.

Properly performed, this is an exciting card effect with an interesting theme on angels.  (Rated 4.5/5 stars)
