JIGSAW DECK

The performer takes the cover off a small black plastic box and dumps out an 8-piece wooden jig-saw puzzle of the design of the back of a red deck of playing cards.

The 8 pieces are mixed up and the performer challenges a spectator to put together the jig-saw to form the back of a deck of playing cards.  Since this is a relatively easy jig-saw puzzle, the spectator can complete it within a short period of time.  Much fun can be had in challenging the spectator to complete the puzzle against a set standard time.  The puzzle is assembled inside the bottom of the box.

The performer takes the cover of the box, which can be shown to be empty, and covers the puzzled.  He makes a magical gesture.  When he takes off the cover, the assembled jig-saw has become a real deck of playing cards.  The performer can use this deck to perfom his repertoire of card tricks.

You receive the black plastic box and the wooden jig-saw, all inside a nice gift-box.  The black box is very well made.  It truly appears empty except for the jig-saw pieces, and empty again when the jig-saw puzzle has been transformed into a real deck of playing cards.  The wooden jig-saw is about 1.5 cm thick.

You are given a link to a 14 minutes video tutorial.  However, this video is not downloadable.

You are also supplied 2 stickers, for you to stick one of them onto the cover of your plastic box.  Both of the stickers feature a picture of a brain with the word BUSTER.  One has the brain and the word printed in blue colour against a white backgroud.  The other sticker has the picture and word in red colour against a black background.  They are meant to convey the word “brain buster” on the cover of the box, since the box conatins a jig-saw puzzle.  I prefer not to use any of the stickers.  To me it is alright to have a plain black colour box.

You have to supply your own deck of cards, as these are not gimmicked.  The jig-saw features a red mandolin bicyle back.  You can use the more popular red rider bicycle deck, but an astute spectator may be able to spot the difference.

This is an excellent effect to use as an opener to your card magic routines.  (Rated 5/5 stars)
