THE DECK OF FORTUNE

“The Deck Of Fortune” is a deck of 52 cards where each card has the identity of a playing card, a number, a picture and a description of a fortune based on the picture.  For example, the 4 of diamonds has the number 27 and a picture of a dog with a hat, and the description says “The dog, if near, represents true friends, if distant and surrounded by clouds, then beware of unexpected enemies.”

In effect, the performer brings out 3 cards, one has “PRESENT” printed on it, one has “PAST” printd on it and the third one has “FUTURE” printed on it.

The deck of fortune is then introduced and a spectator freely names any of the 52 cards, say, the 2 of spades.  This card is brought out and the spectator decides if this card should belong to present, past or future.

In the same manner, a second random card is named by the spectator.  The performer brings out the named card and has it placed at another present, past or future card.  Finally, a third card is selected and placed at the last present, past or future card.

The performer smiles and says he actually knew which 3 cards would be chosen by the spectator.  He turns over each of the present, past and future card.  Behind each card is printed the name of the actual card selected by the spectator!

You are supplied with the specially printed fortune deck, the 3 present, past and future cards, and a beautiful straw draw-string bag to keep everything in.  You are also given a link to a 15-minutes video tutorial where Liam Montier takes you through an actual performance, a studio explanation of the effect, how to resent the deck for the next performance, and other bits and pieces regarding the props.

The deck of fortune is beautifully printed and is discoloured to show againg of the cards.  This plays an important role in convincing that your predictions are correct.

Fortune telling is of much interest to most people.  In this effect, you predict not one, but 3 of the selected cards.  The 3 selected card are indeed free choices by the spectator.  (Rated 5/5 starts)
