The performer hands a small envelope to a spectator for safe keeping. He says that inside the envelope is a photograph.
He then brings out a deck of playing cards, and shows that the cards are well mixed. He shows that on the backs of every card is written a number from 1 to 52.
The deck is placed face downwards and a spectator freely cuts the deck. The card cut at is noted, say, it is the 8 of clubs.
The deck is placed face upwards and the spectator cuts the deck at any point. The card cut at has, say, the number 23 written on its back.
The performer takes out his prediction from the envelope. It is a photoshot of a spread of cards with the 8 of clubs reversed in a deck of face down cards. It is exactly the card cut to by the spectator!
The performer says the 8 of clubs is exactly the 23rd position from the top of the deck. However, from the photograph, the top portion of the deck is outside the frame of the photograph. To prove that it is exactly at the 23rd position from the top of the deck, the performer turns over the photograph. He has written, on the back of the photograph the following message: “That’s right, the eight of clubs is the 23rd card in the pack!”
It is an ACAAN effect with a difference!
You receive the envelope and the photograph, a sheet of printed instructions, and a specially gimmicked deck of cards. You have to write the various numbers on the backs of the 52 cards in your own hand-writing. You can determine your own forced number – it should be higher than 15, as shown in the photograph. Whichever number you have decided for the force, you have also to write the appropriate prediction message on the back of the photograph.
The special gimmicked deck of cards makes the selection of the forced card and number easy and convincing. It eliminates any sleight-of-hand. The photograph as a revelation makes the effect a novelty! (Rated 4.5/5 stars)
