PR3MIERE

“Pr3miere” is a 3-phase prediction routine involving movies.

The performer brings out 3 small envelopes with a different icon of the genre of a movie printed on each of them.  The icons are for fantasy, drama, animation, music and horror.  Inside each envelope is the corresponding movie of that genre.  The envelopes are mixed and turned face downwards and a spectator freely selects one envelope.  The performer turns his head away and he takes out the movie inside this envelope – it is the movie “8 Mile”.  The selected movie of the spectator is slipped back into the envelope and it is mixed up together with the other envelopes.

The 5 envelopes are laid out in a row on the table.  5 admission chips are introduced.  The spectator freely places each chip on top of each of the 5 envelopes.

The performer then slips out the mystery movie from each envelope.  From the music envelope, the movie is “8 Mile”, from the animation envelope, the movie is “Toy Story 3”, from the drama envelope, the movie is “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”, from the horror envelope, the movie is “SE7EN”, and from the fantasy envelope, the movie is “The Two Towers” from the Lord Of The Rings.  The performer brings to the spectators’ attention that each movie title has a number in it.  When the chips are turned over, underneath each chip is printed a number.  The spectator has subconsciously placed the 8 chip on the movie “8 Mile”, the 3 chip on “Toy Story 3”, the 1 chip on “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”, the 7 chip on “SE7EN”, and the 2 chip on The Two Towers”.

The performer then reveals to the audience that of the 5 movies, his favourite is “8 Mile”.  This coincides with the freely selected movie by the spectator at the start of the performance.

As with every great movie, there is a surprise ending, a twist in the ending that no one sees coming.  The number chips are twisted around to form the movie “8 mile”!  All the spectator’s choices have been influenced!

This final kicker is one which the audience does not expect.  Everything seems so impossible.

You receive everything to perform this wonderful effect in a nice box.  You also get a link to a 1 hour 4 minutes video tutorial conducted by Javier Fuenmayor.

Javier teaches 2 different methods of performing this effect.  The second method is easier to perform, but has an illogical moment, which should pass by most audiences.  To perform using this method, you have to do a little arts and craft with the cards provided.  For those who purchase an earlier batch of this trick, they will get an addition set of cards.  These cards were those that were rejected when the final product was manufactured.  These cards can be used to construct the gimmicked cards necessary for the second method.

All the props are very well produced.  The final surprise ending is truly one that the audience will not see coming.  (Rated 5/5 stars)
